  • A Georgia family said local firefighters — who responded quickly — helped rescue their senior dog on Christmas Eve, leaving the family grateful for the timely support.  FOX 5 Atlanta
  • Dr. Mann co-founded the Bread of Life ministry in 1990 to offer free meals and support to Athens’ homeless. Her life of service and her book In the Secret Place of Thunder, published on Feb. 18, highlight her lasting impact on the community.  Athens Banner-Herald

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Tinsel Trail features a series of decorated Christmas trees along Foundry Street (near the Classic Center) today, hosted by Athens Area Women in Construction. The event supports scholarship funds through decorated tree proceeds while local business sponsors help set up, and voters will pick a winning tree on Dec. 31.  Athens Banner-Herald
