  • Earlier, Sandy Creek Park hosted a free screening of The Grinch and Little Kings' (Unsilent Night) boombox parade.   • According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, Lower Atlantic regional gas prices dropped for a second consecutive week to an average of $2.72 per gallon for regular fuel on Monday — roughly 6.2% lower than the national average of $2.90.  Athens Banner-Herald

HEALTH NEWS

  • New UGA research finds that patients taking opioids are at higher risk of C. diff infections. The meta-analysis (analyzing nearly 120K patients) shows opioid users had a 31% incidence compared with 17% in others, urging doctors to weigh patient risks when prescribing.  WUGA
