- ➤ Phil Kline’s Unsilent Night is set to return downtown as a free boombox parade scheduled for Friday, Dec. 19 at 7:30 p.m. Organized by Mark Mobley, participants will choose one of four tracks to create a live soundscape starting at Little Kings. WUGA

- ➤ Dr. Scott Carver (UGA's Odum School of Ecology) is investigating how wombats use cube-shaped poops for scent communication; his research may guide more detailed future studies. WUGA

- ➤ The Peach Bowl blood drive needs donors with all blood types and is inviting Athens residents to donate as soon as possible. Organizers said the drive remains open at local collection sites. FOX 5 Atlanta
- ➤ Ventura Foods recalled several salad dressings after the FDA reported black plastic fragments in granulated onion on Wed., Dec. 17. The recall affects items sold in local stores and across many states including Georgia. FOX 5 Atlanta
