- ➤ On Saturday, Nov. 22, UGA’s Spike Squad hosted a tailgate for 10 fourth graders at their first Georgia football game, funded by a Senior Signature class gift and coordinated with local elementary schools. The event featured games, food, face painting, and jersey giveaways — a program that introduced local children to campus traditions and the spirit of UGA football. The Red & Black

- ➤ The Georgia Water Coalition honored an Athens REI Co-op on Alps Road for its financial support of local conservation groups—UGA’s Marine Extension and Georgia Sea Grant were recognized for restoring natural oyster beds in coastal marshes. Athens Banner-Herald
LIFESTYLE NEWS
- ➤ 316 Caribbean, a family-owned Jamaican restaurant at Georgia Square Mall, built a loyal following since its lunch counter opened in December 2023—serving dishes like jerk chicken and brown stew chicken. The eatery operates Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Sunday from noon to 6 p.m. as the mall prepares for a major redevelopment that may change the dining scene. - ➤ Georgia women's basketball won at Stegeman Coliseum on Sunday with an 87 to 59 victory over Georgia Tech, marking their first win there since 2017. - ➤ The No.4 Georgia Bulldogs and the No.19 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets will play a rivalry game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on Friday, November 28 at 3:30 p.m. Tickets start at $580 as both teams prepare for a high-stakes clash. Athens Banner-Herald
- ➤ Georgia football underclassmen shone on Senior Day in a 35-3 win over Charlotte on November 22 at Dooley Field, with freshman safety Daniel Okonkwo grabbing his first career interception and freshman running back Bo Walker scoring three touchdowns.
