- ➤ THURGOOD — a play showing the life of Thurgood Marshall — will run at the Morton Theatre on Saturday, Dec. 6 at 4 PM and Sunday, Dec. 7 at 3 PM. Tickets cost $30 if bought ahead and $35 at the door, with all proceeds going to education funds. Classic City News

- ➤ The Clarke County School District won the 2025 Leadership Development Award on November 6 in Athens when it received a $10,000 check for its youth leadership initiatives, including the Leader in Me program and TedEd Student Talks—programs that help students build leadership skills. WUGA

- ➤ On Veterans Day, Nov. 11, 2025, most grocery stores will remain open at regular hours while banks, post offices, and schools will be closed—pharmacy departments may reduce hours.
