- ➤ On Friday evening, University of Georgia held its 103rd Homecoming Parade in downtown Athens where students, alumni, and fans lined Pulaski and Clayton streets to watch floats and support school spirit. - ➤ On Oct. 3, the Athens Clarke-County Jail Re-Entry Success Program celebrated its first female graduates when 10 women finished a six-week course that taught conflict resolution, financial literacy, and other essential skills at the jail — local officials and instructors praised the achievement as a key step toward successful community re-entry. The program has partnered with several local organizations to support rehabilitation and prepare graduates for future employment and personal goals. The Red & Black

- ➤ Researchers from UGA and Illinois Urbana-Champaign found that mobile health apps help older adults with diabetes manage blood glucose levels and take medications—showing a 0.4 drop in HbA1c levels across 490 participants.
