- ➤ Recent romance scams in Athens have victimized two seniors, with losses of $296,000 and prompting warnings from law enforcement—FBI data shows that older adults are often targeted. The Athens Community Council on Aging will host a Scam Jam workshop on Wednesday, Sept. 24 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 135 Hoyt St for $19 to help seniors and their families spot fraud. - ➤ Athens-Clarke County Leisure Services will host a 60-minute Sunset Yoga class at Dudley Park on September 26 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.—participants aged 12 and older will pay $5 for residents and $7 for non-residents as online registration continues. Classic City News

- ➤ LaKeisha Gantt, a former board member, launched her campaign for Athens mayor on Sept. 20 during a tour in the city—visiting neighborhoods where she grew up and ending at City Hall.
