  • Former Clarke Central baseball outfielder Rio Foster from Athens is in ICU after a near-fatal car crash on September 5th (Washington) and is showing spontaneous movements while off the ventilator, according to his mother.  Classic City News

CULTURE NEWS

  • Athens Creative Theatre will hold ACT’s Got Talent auditions on October 23 and October 24 at Quinn Hall at Memorial Park—293 Gran Ellen Drive—with talent tryouts from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and host tryouts from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.; the show is set for November 7 at Morton Theatre and participants must schedule by calling 706-613-3628 or emailing [email protected] Classic City News

  • Ten years after a 2015 collision left Devon Gales paralyzed, he is nearing graduation from UGA in December while working as a P.E. teacher—his strong will and daily resilience continue to inspire his community.
