  • Ted's Montana Grill will begin accepting bids on Tuesday, Sept. 23 for an interior buildout at suite 42A in the D building at 196 Alps Rd in the Beechwood Promenade—its 12th location in Georgia. The Ohio-based chain, known for its bison burgers, has not set an opening date.  Athens Banner-Herald

CULTURE NEWS

  • The University of Georgia Performing Arts Center will host acclaimed Swedish electro-folk duo Symbio on Sept 25 at Ramsey Concert Hall with a free workshop starting at 12:45 p.m. and a ticketed concert at 7:30 p.m. The duo will blend traditional folk sounds with modern electronics—highlighting Nordic influences for an engaging musical experience.  Classic City News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Clarke County School District has named the 2025-2026 Teacher of the Year and Support Professional of the Year for each school from about 700 nominations by staff, students and families. A district-wide Teacher of the Year and Support Professional of the Year will be honored at the awards banquet on Oct. 23—winners will be featured on the district’s social media pages until the finalists are announced in early October.  The Red & Black
  • Cedar Shoals High School senior Donovan Collins was surprised on Sept. 5 with a VIP Georgia Football package from UGA students in the Dream On 3 network—he met Coach Kirby Smart and joined the Bulldogs on the sidelines while celebrating with family despite facing multiple health challenges after a stroke.  Classic City News

  • Georgia football remains ranked No. 3 in the US LBM Coaches Poll after receiving one first-place vote—The Bulldogs, holding a 3-0 record, will host No. 14 Alabama on Sept. 27 at 7:30 p.m.  Athens Banner-Herald
  • Columnist John Adams reviews college football rankings after Georgia football’s overtime win over Tennessee raised the Bulldogs above Ohio State — and he says Vanderbilt football now deserves a new name because of its recent success.
