- ➤ Today marks the 10th anniversary of 100+ Women Who Care Athens and the group has donated $265K to 34 local nonprofits since 2015—supported by matching funds from the Richard M. - ➤ Athens Creative Theatre is holding auditions for ACT's Got Talent on October 23 and October 24 at Quinn Hall in Memorial Park—auditions for talent run from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on October 23 while those for hosts are held from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m., and the show will take place on November 7 at Morton Theatre downtown. - ➤ Scientists from state natural resource agencies and the University of Georgia identified a new species of bass in the Savannah River system and named it Bartram’s Bass—its distinct turquoise marking and known fighting ability set it apart, with research published earlier this month.
