- ➤ The University of Georgia women's volleyball team beat Duke 3-0 on Sept. 5 in Athens as part of the Classic City Clash tournament— a round-robin featuring Alabama State and Texas Tech. The Red & Black
- ➤ Georgia football freshman TE Ethan Barbour was injured in the final seconds of the first half against Austin Peay, and trainers attended to his ankle before he was carted off the field—Georgia now relies on other tight ends to fill his role.
