Pearson Farm and other growers will run taste tests in the coming weeks while UGA Cooperative Extension researchers study if warmer storage can bring back the peaches’ signature flavor—an effort that may boost sales. - ➤ An Athens woman is charged with animal cruelty after a surveillance video showed her throwing a brick at a kitten outside a home on Easy Street on Aug.15—police arrested the 32-year-old suspect two days later and will seek a warrant for felony aggravated cruelty as the cat is treated at an animal shelter. - ➤ A homeless woman—identified by a local outreach worker from doorbell footage—was arrested on August 14th on charges of aggravated cruelty to animals after she repeatedly threw a concrete brick at a cat on Easy Street and is now held in pretrial detention with a $1,000 bond. Classic City News
