- ➤ UGA is opening an independent School of Nursing in Athens after the Board of Regents approved the plan in May, with its first students expected in fall 2027. The university will work with Augusta University to develop a comprehensive plan to address Georgia’s nursing shortage — starting with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. The Red & Black
- ➤ The Clarke County School District said scores on the 2025 Georgia Milestones tests improved in all subjects, with third grade reading at 61% and notable gains in math, science, and social studies for many students.
