- ➤ On April 30th, 2024, 22-year-old UGA student Benhur Tesfai struck and killed 34-year-old Michael Kitchens on West Broad Street and did not stop; his attorney said that Kitchens’ choice to cross in low light may have played a part in the crash—Tesfai now faces charges of vehicular homicide, reckless driving, hit and run and DUI less safe.
