- ➤ On July 22nd, 2025, the Northeast Georgia Regional Drug Task Force with ACCPD and GSP arrested 47-year-old Corby Antwan Faust from Athens after a search of his Mitchell Bridge Rd home found drugs, multiple guns—including three extra pistols and an AR-style pistol—Schedule II pharmaceuticals, assorted ammunition, and about $6,000, and he now faces charges for trafficking cocaine, possessing controlled substances with intent to distribute, and having a firearm during a crime. - ➤ Schools across Georgia have announced their first day of classes, and in Athens, Clarke County School District and Oconee County Schools will resume on Wednesday, Aug. 6—ensuring families know when to mark their calendars.
