- ➤ The Athens YWCO sold its nearly 22-acre property on Hog Mountain Road in Oconee County to Butterfly Dreams Farm Equine Therapy Inc. for $1.85 million, a deal that gives the therapy program more space and provides the YWCO with funds to improve its current Research Drive property. - ➤ A Clarke County grand jury indicted a 35-year-old Athens woman after she stabbed her partner with scissors at their North Chase Street home three months ago—she was arrested in May and released on $1,000 bail—and she is set to be arraigned on August 19th. Classic City News
- ➤ On June 24, an Uber driver had a pistol pointed at them at Athens Gardens apartments while delivering food, with officers later charging a suspect with aggravated assault after recovering a stolen pistol—on June 21, a woman was arrested for shoplifting nearly $600 worth of merchandise at Belk—and a sleeping person on Prince Avenue suffered cuts from an unknown assailant.
