  • Firefly Trail Inc. announced Friday it received a $2.9 million grant to build a 4.5-mile paved trail segment in unincorporated Oglethorpe County — 80% federal and 20% state funding — which will extend the trail corridor from Maxeys to Union Point to over 13 miles once completed.  Athens Banner-Herald
