- ➤ Athens-Clarke County Leisure Services announced that the Morton Theatre will host –Ultimate Rewind Show– on July 12 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The tribute show will feature hits from the 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s with tickets available online. Classic City News

- ➤ The ACCGov Elections Department will test all voting equipment for the July 15 Special Primary Runoff for Public Service Commissioner starting July 1 at 9:00 a.m.—testing will take place at the Athens-Clarke County Facilities and Landscape Management Building until all units are confirmed accurate. - ➤ Athens-Clarke County Mayor Kelly Girtz announced Robert “Bob” Cowell—sole finalist for the new manager role—on June 24 after a nationwide process that interviewed four candidates. The commission will review his appointment on July 15—if approved he will begin the role on July 28. The Red & Black
- ➤ Dexter Fisher, the current District 5 commissioner — mayor pro tempore, announced his bid for mayor on June 27. He has worked in public service for over 40 years and said he will build safer communities, create opportunities for youth and families, and boost the economy. The Red & Black

- ➤ The Athens YWCO sold its 22-acre property on Hog Mountain Road in Oconee County to Butterfly Dreams Farm Equine Therapy Inc. for $1.85 million on Friday—this deal gives Butterly Dreams extra space for its therapeutic riding program and provides funds for YWCO improvements at its Research Drive property.
