- ➤ A 53-year-old woman was shot during a domestic dispute on Vincent Drive after her 6-year-old daughter called 911—police arrested her boyfriend, Jose Linares, after noting his disoriented speech and evidence of black smoke on his hands—and the victim was taken to the hospital. Classic City News
- ➤ A 13-year-old boy left his home on Zebulon Drive on June 7 and has not been seen since—his mother said he left after being told he could not go to the pool and was later seen at a bus stop asking for a ride to Walmart to sell a phone as Athens-Clarke County police continue to look for him. - ➤ The Athens Music Walk of Fame Committee announced the five inductees—Walter Allen Sr., Randall Bramblett, Five Eight, Flagpole Magazine, and the Michael Guthrie Band—to honor their impact on Athens' music history.
