Sunroof Coffee opened its new downtown shop at 198 College Ave today.
Owned by UGA grads Reid Finnegan & Nick Alliston, the shop serves coffee, espresso, tea and seasonal drinks daily from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., filling the gap left by the former Local Coffeehouse & Study Lounge.

Washington, Georgia claims the title of the first town legally incorporated to honor George Washington after receiving its charter in 1780.
The town, with about 10,000 residents and located between Augusta and Athens, is near the historic Battle of Kettle Creek site.
