- ➤ The Athens Homeless Coalition has launched Athens Coordinated Entry (ACE) to connect individuals experiencing homelessness with housing and services, following a successful pilot and set for full implementation in July. A launch event will be held on June 24 at 5 p.m. at the Athens-Clarke County Library — the system will standardize assessments to better match community needs. The Red & Black

- ➤ Gary Jordan was seriously injured and his dog died when a dark-colored sedan hit him during a walk on Cedar Shoals Drive on April 13th — Athens-Clarke police are investigating the hit-and-run near his Essex Court home. Athens Banner-Herald

- ➤ William Lee Martin will perform his one-man Funny Life Tour at the Morton Theatre on Friday, June 27 from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.—ticket prices range from $20 to $45. The comedian, who began performing as Cowboy Bill before returning to his real name in 2016, will share stories about marriage, parenting, and daily chaos. Classic City News

- ➤ Stephanie Thompson was appointed as Athens-Clarke County's Municipal Court Judge and Administrative Hearing Officer by the Mayor and Commission on June 10. - ➤ Georgia’s basketball team is back on campus and coach Mike White said the roster now includes top transfers Kanon Catchings and Jeremiah Wilkinson along with key returning players like Blue Cain and Somto Cyril to boost team depth. He said versatile players such as Saint Mary’s transfer Jordan Ross — who had a strong assist-to-turnover ratio last season — will help fill critical roles as the team prepares for March contests. - ➤ Georgia basketball will open the season with a nonconference game against Bellarmine at Stegeman Coliseum on Monday, November 3 and is set to host Maryland—Eastern Shore on November 5 and West Georgia on December 22 for $90,000 guaranteed contracts. The Bulldogs will also meet Morehead State on November 9, face Georgia Tech on November 14, take on Florida State in the ACC/SEC Challenge, and compete in the Charleston Classic on November 21 and 23.
