- ➤ A homeless man from east Athens, 33-year-old La-Kwaann Reevey, was arrested on May 25 at the corner of First and Third streets after reports showed he went through mailboxes — he had a stolen passport and debit cards — and he admitted his meth addiction. Classic City News

- ➤ The Athens Anti-Discrimination Movement will host a Juneteenth flag raising ceremony at 10:00 a.m. on June 14 at Athens City Hall + a music and art festival on June 19 outside Athens City Hall that will feature live performances, interactive art sessions, and community dialogue.
