- ➤ Athens police arrested Jose Lopez, 33, from Grove Street after his Jeep Grand Cherokee crashed into a parked vehicle and flipped over on Grove Street Extension at about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday night—officers noted his slurred speech and a 0.137 percent blood-alcohol test, leading to DUI charges and a federal hold on his release—and he was taken to county jail.
