- ➤ Love.Craft, a nonprofit that empowers adults with developmental disabilities through art, opened a new accessible two-story studio at 1635 W. Broad St. on Tuesday, June 3 in Athens. The nearly five thousand square foot facility (an expansion from its previous 250 square foot space) will add a wheelchair lift soon to improve accessibility. The Red & Black

- ➤ Yesterday the Mayor & Commission held the first Taxpayer Bill of Rights hearing and its video is available on-demand online and will be rebroadcast on ACTV at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays and 3:00 p.m. on Sundays within two business days after the meeting. Athens-Clarke County
- ➤ Tim Denson announced he is running for Athens-Clarke County Mayor and will hold community listening sessions this summer for residents to share their priorities. He currently represents District 5 on the Clarke County Board of Education and previously served as an ACC Commissioner, with voters set to choose the next mayor in May 2026. WUGA
- ➤ The Georgia Department of Revenue will begin mailing one-time state income tax refunds this week as Gov. Brian Kemp announced Monday—eligible taxpayers will receive up to $250 if single, $375 for heads of households and $500 for married couples filing jointly.
