  • From today to Tuesday, June 30, Orangetheory Fitness is offering new Premier members one month of unlimited classes for $99—a deal designed for all fitness levels. Locals have a chance to try coach-led strength and cardio workouts this summer.  Athens Banner-Herald

SPORTS NEWS

  • Georgia football secured commitments from two 3-star prospects on Sunday, May 31, with wide receiver Taurean Rawlins from Mount Vernon School in Atlanta and offensive tackle DJ Dotson from Hattiesburg joining the 2027 class; their additions bring the Bulldogs’ total to 10 as recruiting heats up.  Athens Banner-Herald
  • Georgia baseball is set to face Mississippi State in a best-of-three NCAA Super Regional series next weekend at Foley Field in Athens (the matchup will decide which team advances to Omaha).   • Georgia football signed in-state wide receiver Tre Shields, a late addition to the 2026 recruiting class, after he finished academics last week. Shields, who had 54 catches for 1,038 yards and 9 touchdowns last season, joins running back Nick Peal from Roswell High.  Athens Banner-Herald

  • At Foley Field on Sunday, May 31, Georgia baseball player Tre Phelps hit his 19th home run to give his team a 2-1 lead before being ejected for making hand signals (coach Wes Johnson was also tossed after arguing a call) from the NCAA Athens Regional final.  Athens Banner-Herald
