GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Governor Brian Kemp signed House Bill 328 into law Monday to raise the annual cap for private school scholarship tax credits from $120 million to $150 million and to broaden eligibility to include students from military families and those with disabilities — changes that may benefit Athens families. - ➤ Today, the Georgia Department of Health released restaurant inspection scores for local eateries from April 28 to May 11. Golden Sun Chinese Restaurant and Smoothie King earned perfect marks while Blind Pig Tavern scored 81 amid reports of improper cooling, food debris, and drain flies in the kitchen.
