  • The University of Georgia African American Choral Ensemble performed a free spring concert featuring music rooted in African American tradition at Hodgson Concert Hall on Friday, April 24, and the event coincided with celebrations for the UGA Black Theatrical Ensemble’s 50th anniversary and the Miss Black University of Georgia Pageant.  The Red & Black
  • Caamp performed at the Akins Ford Arena in Athens on Friday, April 24, 2026, showcasing songs from their album (Copper Changes Color, released in June 2025) to a lively crowd.  The Red & Black

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Realtor.com data showed Clarke County’s median home listing price held at $375,000 in March — unchanged from February. Homes averaged 1,786 sqft at $214 per sqft and were on market for 66 days, with 148 new listings matching last year’s count.  Athens Banner-Herald

SPORTS NEWS

  • Georgia football TE Oscar Delp was chosen by the Saints at the NFL Draft on Friday, April 25, and his chocolate lab made a viral attempt to reclaim its usual spot on the family couch, receiving help from his mother. Videos of the moment have since spread on social media.  Athens Banner-Herald
  • After eight Bulldogs were drafted on Saturday, several players signed as undrafted free agents with NFL teams. Wide receiver Dillon Bell joined the Vikings (he posted 119 catches in his college career) as more Georgia athletes inked new NFL contracts.  Athens Banner-Herald
  • Georgia wide receiver Colbie Young was selected as the 140th overall pick by the Bengals in the NFL Draft and became an NFL rookie as he transitioned from college football to the pro stage — experts noted his height and red zone skills as key advantages.  Athens Banner-Herald
  • Georgia football offensive lineman Micah Morris was selected by the Philadelphia Eagles in the sixth round of the NFL Draft on April 25. Morris, a 6-foot-4, 330-pound player (pick No. 207), is expected to bring strength and versatility to his new team.  Athens Banner-Herald
