The FBI warned that last year, Georgians lost over $420 million in cybercrimes—a 40% increase from the previous year—as fraudsters targeted victims with phishing, extortion, and cryptocurrency scams.

The agency advises residents to protect their online accounts by avoiding unknown links and keeping their systems up to date.

The Clarke County School District will host its 2nd annual Job Shadow Program Day on April 29 to offer CTAE students hands-on work experience with local businesses in partnership with the Northeast Black Georgia Chamber of Commerce, Economic Justice Coalition and the Athens Area Chamber of Commerce. Students will depart (9:00 a.m. from Clarke Central) and return (1:30 p.m. from Clarke Central High School) as part of the event.

The NFL Draft finished its first round on Thursday when Georgia Bulldogs players Jalon Walker, Mykel Williams & Malaki Starks were chosen by the Atlanta Falcons, San Francisco 49ers & Baltimore, respectively.
