- ➤ Avid Bookshop owner Janet Geddes announced that the independent store will close its physical location on Sunday, April 26 due to health concerns; the beloved bookstore has been a cultural staple since 2011 and will continue operating online and hosting occasional events in Athens. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Cedar Shoals High School was named the only high school in Georgia as a 2025 School of Excellence by ACT’s American College Application Campaign for boosting college applications among first-generation and under-resourced students. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Ten local environmental organizations will host a mayoral forum on energy and the environment with five candidates at ACC Library on Monday, April 27 at 6:30 p.m. The forum (moderated by Olivia Asher) will feature public questionnaire responses from Athens-Clarke County candidates. WUGA
