- ➤ The Georgia Department of Labor reported that metro Athens’ unemployment rate was 3.1% in January, up 0.2% from the previous month. The area ended January with 107,700 jobs and a 2,550 increase in its labor force from last year as seasonal shifts affected positions. WUGA
