  • The Backlight Student Film Festival was held in Athens from March 29 to March 30—organized by a nonprofit that accepts film submissions from colleges and universities across Georgia.  The Red & Black

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Georgia lawmakers approved a bill on Friday that guarantees women struggling with infertility the legal right to in vitro fertilization (IVF) and the measure now goes to Gov. Brian Kemp for his signature.  WUGA
  • Over 200 citizens gathered on March 27 at Georgia Square Mall for a public meeting organized by Commissioner Stephanie Johnson to learn about the mall redevelopment project that faces long-term financing problems and changes to its Community Benefits Agreement. Developer Mark Jennings—project lead for the project—used the term —fluidity— to describe progress, prompting citizens to sound a warning against further bonds and urging officials to clear up secret talks.  Classic City News
