- ➤ StorageCafe’s analysis based on U.S. Census data shows that in 2023, Chatham County led Georgia with about 7,500 net new residents while Athens welcomed mostly Gen Z renters and nearby suburban areas saw high homeownership rates amid moves from out-of-state. Athens Banner-Herald
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Athens Homeless Coalition updated the Athens-Clarke County Commission with data from the Coordinated Entry System showing nearly 900 people experiencing homelessness (200 of whom are children) and matching over 40 to housing opportunities. The tool is now the most current in the state. WUGA
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Georgia gymnastics faced longtime rival Alabama at Coleman Coliseum in Tuscaloosa Friday night in their final regular season meet. The team had strong wins against Missouri and Auburn, although junior All-American Lily Smith missed the contest after breaking her foot earlier this month. Athens Banner-Herald
