- ➤ Athens-Clarke County officials and business leaders have hired Accenture to scout developers for an entertainment district near Akins Ford Arena. The contract approved Mar. 3 pays up to $600,000 for studies and outreach while future phases may fund improvements with profit sharing. Flagpole

- ➤ Following an FDA advisory issued on March 10 at 10:05 a.m., Georgia restaurants that received Manila clams from a Washington harvest are advised to discard them due to a norovirus risk; businesses should also clean any equipment that may have contacted the clams. Athens Banner-Herald
- ➤ An Athens-Clarke County officer captured a community cat near Westwood Avenue in Bogart on Sunday, March 8, and the animal was confirmed positive for rabies by testing at the University of Georgia.
