  • Mary Rathbone, an Athens resident and founder of Moms Adopting Moms (a nonprofit aiding foster care families), will speak at TedxUGA on March 27 to share her vision for transforming the foster care system in the community.  WUGA

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Table campus ministry will accept donated firearms on Mar. 28 for its Guns2Gardens event and will team with RawTools South to turn them into gardening tools. Campus minister Haley Lerner said the effort helps UGA students connect their faith with community service.  WUGA

  • Georgia basketball earned its best seed in ten years with a bye to the second round and will play Thursday, Mar. 12 at 7 p.m. ET at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville against the winner of the Texas/Ole Miss game; a win advances them to face No. 2 Alabama on Friday.  Athens Banner-Herald
