- ➤ During recent winter storms, Athens homeless shelters, local government and residents helped unhoused individuals by extending shelter hours and adjusting overflow care when temperatures dropped and roads became unsafe. - ➤ The county's Solid Waste Department delayed plans for a new 30,000 sqft recycling facility after funding dropped to $8 million. Officials are seeking extra funds to upgrade the aging plant and improve services including leaf and limb pickup — work is now pushed to 2025. Flagpole

- ➤ A look back at the 1964 Bulldogs shows coach Vince Dooley introduced uniforms with white pants, red jerseys and red helmets featuring a black G logo by Anne Donaldson to update the team image.
