About this event
**Clay Your Way: Pottery for Tweens & Teens - After School Open Studio**
Calling all young creatives! Join us for **Clay Your Way**, a teacher-led pottery class tailored for tweens and teens ages **10–15**. This engaging weekly studio invites students to explore, experiment, and unleash their creativity with clay, moving beyond cookie-cutter projects to create functional pottery, handmade gifts, sculptures, and more—limited only by their imagination. Led by **Lydia Kay Blackburn**, our Pottery Studio Manager with over 40 years of art teaching experience, students will receive guidance on techniques and skills while enjoying the freedom to pursue their own artistic ideas.
Students will purchase their own bag of clay and have designated space to store their works in progress, allowing them to work at their own pace and return week after week. They will learn handbuilding techniques, delve into the ceramic process, and tackle creative challenges while building confidence in their artistic choices. Most importantly, Clay Your Way fosters a **safe, welcoming, creative environment** where young artists can relax, make new friends, and enjoy the artistic process. **No experience is necessary—just bring your curiosity, imagination, and a willingness to play with clay!**
