About this event

**Clay Your Way: Pottery for Tweens & Teens** is a weekly pottery class designed for young creatives ages 10–15. Under the guidance of experienced Pottery Studio Manager, **Lydia Kay Blackburn**, students can explore their creativity and turn their ideas into clay creations without the constraints of a step-by-step project. Participants are encouraged to craft functional pottery, handmade gifts, sculptures, and other imaginative pieces. Lydia, with over 40 years of art teaching experience, will introduce various techniques, provide demonstrations, and offer hands-on support, all while allowing students the freedom to express themselves.

Students can register on a week-to-week basis to suit their family's schedule and will each purchase a bag of clay, which comes with designated storage for their works in progress. Throughout the sessions, they will learn handbuilding techniques, navigate the ceramic process, and build confidence in their artistic choices. The studio is a safe, welcoming environment where young artists can relax, make friends, and enjoy the creative process. No prior experience is required—just curiosity, imagination, and a willingness to play with clay!
